Tuesday doesn't loo bad but it might not be a bad idea to hold off until Wednesday.
Hwy 11 is looking the better option. Not sure how far North it's hitting but somewhere between North Bay and New Liskeard it's looks like it runs out.
A day in Montreal might not be a bad idea.

Howdy y'all. I'm headed the same route more or less. Ontario to Chilliwack, BC, leaving Tuesday morning.
What do most guys do, plan the next day each night? As in, look at the weather charts for the route each night?
I'm not really sure how to route plan for that many days out. My last trip was to Labrador, due to a breakdown I lost a few hours and I lost the luxury of route planning. The schedule and plan
I had went out the window, I drove as hard and fast as I could and slept when I could, regardless of weather. Not ideal -
Once you get to North Bay, you can go 17 or 11. After that, your days will be essentially planned for you until you're out of Ontario. It'll take a full day from North Bay to get to Thunder Bay(or Nipigon if you don't want to run too hard), no matter which highway you take.
DDlighttruck Thanks this. -
I've heard there's less parking and stops out west, I'm trying to avoid being caught on the road with nowhere to go. -
Here's a free online tool courtesy of the folks who make ProMiles. Once you plot your trip, there's a banner you can click to find truck stops along your route. http://www.truckmiles.com/
DDlighttruck and White Line Fever Thank this. -
No... are you movng a truck for Gamache or something? -
You're pretty much limited for places (except brake checks) the last 900km or so once you pass calgary... Revelstoke, Kamloops, Golden if you can find a spot, other than that you might as well just go to the flying J in Hope if you need to park then drive the last half hour to Chilliwack.DDlighttruck Thanks this. -

Hope you got on the road before the storm hit , I just got into North Bay HWY 417 / 17 from Ottawa to North Bay is snow covered with icy spots and the wind blowing the fine light snow around some bad visibility in areas.
I had no traction problems but grossing 84,940 Lbs Bobtail could be tricky in spots the ice is under the snow near Renfrew and Pembroke as others noted on the CB that were running light
So far about 12 to 15 CM of the expected 30 to 35 CM of snow has fallen so going to snow heavier through the day as its projected to stop by tonight.Last edited: Dec 29, 2015

Yep, hopefully you made it through the snow that fell. Sudbury got hit hard today!
