I spoke with the Child Support agency and they said they'll unsuspend my license if a trucking company faxes them and says they want to hire me. The problem is that I haven't found any companies willing to do that. They state that as soon as they see a suspenscion they won't go any further. This has me stuck between a rock and a hard place. Does anyone know any companies that will fax child support an intent to hire?

    Thank you.

    You can't drive with a suspended license, so it's a catch-22

I would go to court and contest the suspension.

Why would a TRUCKING COMPANY risk hiring someone who is on the verge of losing their driving privileges? And shows a lack of responsibility and an inability to meet their obligations? If you don't take care of your own children, why would a company trust you would take care of their customers?

Pay child support. Get CDL back. Go trucking. Pretty simple.

That's a bad generalization. What if he got laid off?

They don't pull your license for missing a couple of payments. It's a last-resort punishment for deadbeats who don't communicate, ignore correspondence, and generally show intent to evade their obligations.

I've been in situations where I was unemployed or under employed and the child support folks were willing to work with me and make contingency arrangements until I was able to improve my financial situation and catch up on the arrears that I owed. No one ever even suggested taking my license because I took responsibility for my situation and communicated my plans to rectify it.

Nope, I'm a lifelong resident of the great State of Tennessee. Never have lived in Texas and I never will.
