Just passed the mandatory 90 day per Diem mark, and looking to opt out for 2016. Is there a way to do this via crossroads?

Contact dbl asap...demand immediate removal from this hose job deduction.
Start a writen log/journal of trips and sleeping locations for accurate tax information.

Is contacting my dbl the only way? Would definitely like to know it was properly done versus hoping my dbl took care of it.

From what I know your dbl gets the ball rolling; just let them know that if they fumble you'll be in touch with their boss.

You have to go through your DBL and have to sign an 'opt out' paper as they tell how much more honey you'll make on per diem and how they just don't understand why you wouldn't want more in your pocket and how many others drivers do it.

That sounds like the BS he was talking during our first meeting, that per Diem is such a great deal. Thanks will take care of this when I head out next week.

For some it can be, the OSR shouldnt have tried to be a salesman for it. Should have simply presented the info of what it's about then informed you of how to opt out when allowed. No more no less.

For some guys it can work well for their personal tax situation. Others not so much. Consult a Tax professional for your specific situation.

    gentleroger and scythe08 Thank this.

I would make sure that you also keep track of your E-Logs and save them to your computer whether you opt out of Per Diem or not. Schneider I believe only keeps them 6-months back. You will need your driver # and the PIN that Schneider sent you to get these reports.

Having the company pay you the per diem isn't so bad, as a bulk driver I'm able to clear about $300 for the week, at least i can now shop at the flyingJ....
