I had beveled hard wood and 4 coil racks and 3 pieces of rubber belting plus the 6 3/8s chains and binders. It was only 41,500 but it was my first one.

Riprap, glitterglue, Chewy352 and 2 others Thank this.

Well done. I will add, NEVER become complacent in securement. As the fellas that haul the big stuff say,"always bring your A game"! Carry on.

It is much better to over secure a load than to under secure.

Better. Checked into a motel, doing laundry. When I get finished, I'm heading over to the Mexican restaurant with the good food, adult beverages and the cute waitresses that are afraid yet curious because their mothers warned them about guys like me.

Ok...first time ever pulling a coil...I pretty much have the technique down as to how to load it. "Throw every chain you got on it!" Lol....no but seriously my question is placement of the coil racks? Do you nail them to the floorboard? I have a combo trailer but don't have the coil indicator sticker anywhere. It's a 48ft spread axle

    Al. Roper Thanks this.

First question is how much does it weigh? As far as the coil rack, no sir you don't nail them to the floor. You will also need your rubber belting to put between your wood and the coil. Hazarding a guess, do a measurement from the kingpin to the center of the rear axle and place the coil about the midpoint of that measurement. It will not necessarily be the center clearance light.
