If you live in your truck for multiple days then your OTR.

Don't tell them its regional. Talked with a person in safety who had no idea about trucking about a job once. She said we don't think we can hire you because you have no actual ltl experience but 15 years of driving in the city won't count.

With most large companies, there really isn't much difference. If you run, for example southeast regional, that's probably gonna encompass east TX to FL and up into MD and southern PA, OH, IN, and everything in between. That's OTR in my book.
Thull Thanks this. -
Most applications will have a slot asking what states you ran.
Just put truck driver as your title.
It will come up in an interview.
Saying you ran 49 wild + Canada is a lot more impressive than a little region just turning and burning.Thull Thanks this. -
My regional friends are gone for 3 to 4 weeks just like my OTR friends...
Thull Thanks this. -
Thanks for the fast replies you guys!

Hi Thull, sorry, not in my book. The two are at opposite ends of the spectrum.

I run a regional flat bed. I due a lot of turn and burn. It's in nd sd mn ne ia and wi. No mountains but can be #### cold. I like to think it is somewhat impressive. Plus I can quite shaving during the winter.CargoWahgo Thanks this. -
They ever get that #### fixed thru Wisconsin & Minnesota? Took forever to get thru there.
I went local this year.
Don't go north of Chicago or Detroit.
Memphis & Knoxville is my radius nowadays.
Pretty boring driving but its by the hr+mileage& unload so can't complain too much.
