No issues; Donner Pass was spectacular and The Hot Chick got about eight hundred photos.

No preplan--holiday weekend. Could be sitting a while.

I think this is the second time in five months I haven't had a preplan before I was empty.

Happy New Year, returning from Washington state, made it Miles City to end the year. Roads were fine, no issues this time.

Captain Zoom and TB John Thank this.

Over Donner again for a Costco delivery 0600 tomorrow. Beat the snow which is a good thing. Sitting in a truck parking pullout about 10 miles from receiver. Thinking I might finish eating and head on in to see if I can park there overnight so I don't start my clock too early tomorrow. Then again I'm only picking up 4 hours tonight so maybe no difference in the big picture.

Breakfast is over (sort of--restaurant was closed so had to eat a couple of mush biscuits from the hot table in the store). Time to exfiltrate and do the 7 miles to delivery. I really hope I don't have to sit around burning hours waiting for another load. Hot Chick thinks since it's a holiday weekend we're hosed on that score.

    We'll see.

Costco. Like a bunch of grocery warehouses in the NE--you have to wait inside while they unload you. No bench, no seating, not even climate control of any kind. So here I am, standing around on an ice cold dock, dodging barely trained forklift operators, while they work through their backlog and priority deliveries before they even open my dock door. At least they have time to socialize and stop to joke around about the game last night.

It's the respect that impresses me the most....

Got back in truck to find The Hot Chick had become The Chicksicle. Bunk heater went out and temps dropped in the cab pretty quick. Maintenance says nothing open on holiday weekend and truck is having regen issues, so no idling, ergo free hotels this weekend. Getting routed to shop for PM and a litany of writeups. Hoping someone Upstairs realizes it is simpler for everyone to find me a newer truck instead of this chain of ready to trade jalopies. 4 trucks in 5 months. Honestly.

Hot Chick is cold and hungry. I am going to have to remedy the situation immediately. Or Captain Zoom will become Brother Wanker, The Chaste.
