She is beautiful not only in looks but in spirit and heart......what a gift!
The King went north yesterday into the snow and ice and west today. Oklahoma and Arkansas have some flooding issues and I also saw that part of I 70 in Illinois was closed yesterday because of flooding.
The high school kids have been going kayaking down at the city park for the last few days......we normally don't have a lake at the park.gntorres61, scottlav46 and jaso37 Thank this. -
The last two weeks have been putrid in the miles department. 1100 last week but was off Christmas and the day after. Looking at 1500 this week. Been doing a lot of sitting because of clerical errors from disinterested parties in HOLIDAY MODE. I guess it renders them stupid. Last week, it was trying to find me a load going home. This week a QVC load from Rocky Mount was delayed 15 hours because of a clerical error in their dispatch office when they did not reassign the load to us (Cargo) from Landstar so they would not release the load. By the time I got the load to the receiver, I was half hour past their early closing time and would not unload me. Gotta wait until Saturday morning. It could be worse. Could have gotten stuck until Monday. So here I sit ringing in New Years from the Peter Carmiel service plaza on the PA TURNPIKE. At least I gotta place to park, eat, and release said eats.
Saturday morning I will drop this load, head to Mechanicsburg PA, pickup a Ralston Purina load bound for Henderson NC, to the house for a driveby (I hope), then back out Sunday morning with another QVC load bound for UPS Dallas. At least Cargo is making an attempt to right the wrongs caused by others. By the way, for my scorecard at Cargo, 28 weeks, $30k gross, 65k miles. Don't remember the numbers from TransAm. Not sure I wanna lookem up.
Happy New Year!!Panhandle flash, HometimeQueen and scottlav46 Thank this. -

Happy New Year everyone! May it be blessed with health, happiness and prosperity for all!
I've been having some technical issues around here. Passport, I sure could use your expertise! Number One Daughter got a new gaming console, the router has a firewall and will not allow the console to connect online. Yesterday we totally knocked out our internet service for most of the day.
Did you all know that people make millions of dollars in endorsements playing video games? Crazy, isn't it?
Number One Daughter is a world-class gamer. She has actually beat the number one ranked player in the world....and beat him so badly that he left the game before he lost his ranking. (Sore-loser) I think what really got his goat was that she beat him using an older game console that is out of date in comparison to the newer ones on the market. Sooooo .....we got her a new one, (well, you know, if there are millions to be made she needs to get her share!) .....but, we can't get the router to allow this thing to work right. Frustrating!
There is still some major flooding going on in this part of the country. The King had some issues in Oklahoma with flooded roads on Tuesday.scottlav46 Thanks this. -
What console did she get? Usually it's very easy to connect them online. Do you have your router set up to only allow certain Mac addresses?
I have a BS degree in Information Systems. It's a degree that gets outdated fast though. I use to work in a call center to help people with their computer problems. I always found it to be harder to fix something without being able to reach out and touch it. I really hated working in a call center but that's another story.
Happy New Year everyone.HometimeQueen and scottlav46 Thank this. -

It is a special edition PS4 ....nothing special about it other than the price tag. Eight hours of downloads on this thing straight out of the box! I have a Linksys 1200 router and I live in the boonies. We can't get the port forwarding to work. I am thinking that we need to assign a static IP address to the PS4 and do the DMZ thingy, (don't you love my use of technical terminology
). Any help would be greatly appreciated, Evomalo! I am about ready to pay someone to come out here and set this thing up for her. While I understand the concept of what needs to be done, this silly little router has been a pain in the behind since day one!
