Now that's the ticket. That's what makes a good professional truck driver seeing how long you have to go and how many times you get laid. It's better you back out now while you have a little respect left.

You're right, I was thinking you were talking about the LTL UPS company that's union and the drivers do make a lot of money. I seriously doubt that an asphalt company would pay their drivers more than they pay an UPS driver. I think you've got it mixed around too think that these drivers you are talking about are O/O's which makes more sense than a company driver. That would be good money and after you take out all the expenses to run the truck they might make almost the same as UPS. When I say UPS I'm talking about United Parcel Services like Fed ex.

Since this is a UPS thread now: My buddy works for UPS. He hired from the street with 6 or 7 years Class A experience and never did sort or package delivery first. When he started a couple years ago, the payscale was approximately $18/hr the 1st year, $21/hr the 2nd year, $26/hr the 3rd year, and $33/hr top scale after 4 years. Overtime is after 8 hours. It is a bit higher now, because of regular raises in the contract. That is for Class-A. Most are making well over $100k, but I have never heard of any making a quarter million.
Just because package delivery drivers make great money doesn't mean the Class A drivers must make twice as much. -
Oh, and speeding tickets are bad.
