Most do. Usually after you've been with them 90 days or so in my experience.

Many will pay 5 days or holiday pay based on average pay-per day. Many will also offer $200 - $500 additional gross pay to run between the 23rd and 3rd (or similar) as an incentive to run over the holidays to those not otherwise inclined to run the holiday week.

Where I used to work, this incentive was offered to all drivers, but this was not offered where I recently began work. Next year and assuming I'm still here, If I'm not offered $500 (in addition to normal pay) to run through the year end holidays [like I'm inclined to do with the bonus] , I'm going to be home. Take it or let me go, it makes no difference.

@antoinefinch I don't know Swift's policy, but for every company I've worked for, if you work on a holiday you get holiday pay plus your regular pay. Some will also sweeten the pot by paying a premium on top of holiday pay if you work those days. Maybe ask on the Swift forum. I think @Moosetek13 works there.

We got paid a lot back in the day. Your week during Thanksgiving was the best because you pulled in 28 hours OT for $966 and then your base at $920. So that week I'd work 5 days, 2 days at 10 hours and 4 days at 12 hours. The total for that week was $1886.00. And that was an easy 5 days.

    They don't do that anymore.

We do too but apparently you have to ask your driver manager about it. Also it seems to fluctate depending on how many people are out on the road and stuff. I took the bonus on thanksgiving but went home for christmas. It was 200 on christmas but they later said it was 300. As for new years, I had to sit all day but it least got paid double pay for layover, although I did have to make a fuss about it to make that happen.
