Trans Am Still

I used this article to open the ports that we needed to open ....it is a great article....thanks, Evomalo. The router shows the ports open but still doesn't work. I read about a second upstream router?....does this mean there is some type of a router upstream within the system of our service provider?

 

HTQ I will try to look into it more tomorrow. I have to get to bed now. I have an early start tomorrow. You may try searching YouTube for a how to video. I have found helpful information that way before.

One more full day of hometime. Took home an eighty pound box of ground beef. Eight sleeves. Cooked up twenty pounds into various stuff yesterday and today. Put twenty pounds in the freezer. Gave twenty pounds to my wife's friend and twenty pounds to a food pantry. Go to a Costco tomorrow then football all day with some laundry mixed in. Not sure where I'm going next but I guess I'll find out Monday.

We did that! When I couldn't get it to open up, Number One Daughter had a friend try ....remotely.....and that is how we lost our service for about 5 hours! LOL
Those kids are scary.......it was so darn easy for him to tap into our router from his house and make changes!

HTQ I found another article for you. If you mess something up on a router there should be a reset button to place back like it was before. You should always have a current mirror image for your computer so you can restore in case something happens. I remember I use to have to restore mine maybe once a week because I goofed something up.
I have only used Verizon routers for several years now. Haven't used Linksys since I left Cox. I have used port forwarding the past but it has been so long I don't even remember why I used it. I'm sorry I'm really not being very helpful.
I always found it harder to fix something with out seeing it. When I worked in the call center I would log into people's computers remotely as much as I could to fix their problems. I dreaded going to work every day. I would call out as much as I could. I really wanted a job at a company where I could just walk around and fix people's computers and take care of the network. Instead I had to do the dreaded otr trucking. I tried to avoid trucking but hear I am. I got off track there. Anyways I hope this article helps you.

 

Thank you, Evomalo! All help is always greatly appreciated! I can usually get things to work .....after a few bad words and several hours of frustration and aggravation! I think that is why I just dread even starting on this again! What is really maddening is that you have to make so many changes to your whole system for a GAME console! We seem to get a new game console every year....the girls have always been able to make whatever changes that they needed without me even being involved. This is the first time that there has ever been a problem.
I will gather up my courage, read the article that you found, and tackle this thing again......eventually!

 

You're welcome HTQ. I hope you can get it working soon. I hate that everything needs Internet. I buy my kids a game and they should be able play it without having to log in. I don't want my kids information everywhere just so they can play a game. When they play under my name they can't have their own saved games. Maybe PlayStation has a children's account where I don't have to give their information. I don't know.

 

I say the PS4 is no good for you guys as a friend I will take the hit and take it off your hands. I'm willing to make the sacrifice cause that's the kind of friend I am. Your welcome in advance.
