Get your own authority. Then your a real owner op.
6wheeler Thanks this. -
Stupid question I am sure but.....what does getting your own authority mean? Can't you buy your own truck and start rolling?
-
No you cannot just start rolling.. you have to have operating authority. It means you need a mc/dot number for interstate motor carriers. Read this..
https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/registration/get-mc-number-authority-operatePuppage Thanks this. -
This is NOT aimed at anyone or trying to start anything. It's for new guys that might read this. Giving up a higher % is NOT always a bad thing. Ya have to remember % is just a number of another number. I would rather give up 25% of $4.00/mile vs. 10% of 1.25/ mile. Just an example.heavyhaulerss, spyder7723, TheDudeAbides and 9 others Thank this.

When you find one that is not a scam, let me know and I'll gladly revoke my authority
-
I think you have your numbers mixed up there ...
25% of $4 is $1
10% of $1.25 is $.125
Are you saying you'd rather give up $1 over .12 cents? -
Thank you! That's just what I needed.
-
So, basically, getting your own authority is paying money to the government? Why am I not surprised?
-
Yes...
Anyone would rather make $3 vs $1.13.
Yase12278, mitmaks, insertnamehere and 6 others Thank this.
