Filled out the "IntelliApp" over Xmas break, then received an email the following week to set up an interview with the terminal manager at my convenience.
Interviewed at the Jackson, TN terminal.
*interview
*physical
*drug test
*physical capacity test
*new hire paperwork
*road test
Waiting on the terminal manager to get back with me now, to receive my confirmation #'s for the rental car and hotels. Then it's off to Atlanta, GA for 1 week of training, and back to Jackson, TN for my 2 weeks of one-on-one training and then on my own!
I will be a "system"/otr driver. I will not discuss pay etc, that's better left for a recruiter to explain.
I'll update as I go, seeing as there's not much "current" info on A&R.
Be safe everyone,
Touk

Plus, the ones that take the extra effort to do their own research (i.e. call, use a search engine) go farther than the ones being spoon fed info all the time, in my opinion anyways. -
Just got the call today to set up my rental car.
Enterprise, pick up just down from my house and keep for 3 weeks then return to the same place.
Get to go home every weekend during orientation/training. Just have to turn in all fuel receipts so I get reimbursed for expenses.
So far, so good.
Be safe everyone!
Toukcrazeydude, bottomdumpin, Chinatown and 1 other person Thank this. -
I spoke with A&R today. At first I was told OTR/Regional home 1-2 days a week, and every other weekend. OK I can live with that. Two hours later another recruiter calls back and says I just want to make sure you are aware this is an OTR position, 10-14 days out then every other weekend off.
Well no that's not what you told me the first time. Now I see why you are offering $300 for a restart on the road. Apparently I would have been making a number of those.
Used to be Mon-Fri was enough, now everyone wants at least one weekend. ####, I am down to one company with every weekend off, but they are 2 1/2 hours away and they are starting to look good.Last edited: Jan 15, 2016

Recruiters don't know what the actual needs are, and how each terminal runs there's. Mine for instance, has all the regional spots go to the guys with seniority. New hires outside the regional radius get otr lanes, however I was reassured that I'd be through the house a couple times a week considering my location.
If that's cool with them, I can work my hours and schedule to let me spend 1 nIght a week home. I did 28 on, 3-4 off the last time I drove truck. Being home every other weekend sounds great!
Toukapyles Thanks this. -
Picked up the rental car yesterday, midsize sedan from Enterprise.
Made the drive to Atlanta a lil bit ago, and checked into the hotel. Holiday Inn Express by the Atlanta airport. Not too shabby, single man room. Gated parking lot, need code to get out. Everything was set up when I got here, just had to sign and find my room.
1st day tomorrow morning, keep ya posted!
Be safe everyone,
