Freight and the economy is going down hill, they don't need your services anymore... simple as that. That happens as an independent contractor. It is cheaper for the company to move what freight there is with company trucks.

I heard freight volume is down and they weren't taking on anymore o/o's until freight picks back up. I presume they've had drivers turning trucks back in due to not being able to make it because of the downturn. Their best interests is to rid themselves of o/o's who don't owe them money so that the ones who do can make their payments.

    rholl32 Thanks this.

something is kinda odd here......all the dry van folks had to sign a new contract in September. Are you tanker / bulk? Nevertheless, looks like it's time to move on. Personally, I'd look at UPS Freight, Interstate Distributors, and maybe Swift. Also, depending on where you live, Southern Ag Carriers.
Good luck and keep us posted

Freight is definitely down right now. Maybe it's a seniority thing? Last one hired first to go?

Thanks. I am thinking about swift too. I live in CA, so I would need consistent loads going back to CA so I can be with my family until we decide if we should move else where.

I am thinking about UPS Freight and Swift; does UPS freight has tough requirements for owner ops? do they work differently? if anyone has any insiders, would be really appreciated.

I had a sleepless night last night thinking about what just happened. I don't think I have violate any policies, if I do they would have let me know, right? I mailed out Christmas greeting cards to all the ICA that have helped me. After the new year, I smell something is wrong from the voice when I called in.

that hurts. I worked my butt off for SNI and put my heart out for this small business of mine, and they wouldn't even give me a reason why. but they are hiring new IC? I am confused. The only reason I can think of is that I made a good amount of money for the past six months with SNI, the money I spent buying the tractor all earned back. they probably hate me for that.

UPS Freight......need haz mat endorsement and 99% of the time you'll be driving at night terminal to terminal

If I had to guess......absent any other irregularities, perhaps it's where you live.
