I am a small "mom and pop" business you could say. Usually about 10-12 trucks per day in and out. My home is next to my production plant. If I simply "allow" truck parking, I wake up in middle of night to say 4-10 trucks idling outside, lol. If they call ahead, I can instruct them where to go nearby with no problems. Wife and kids appreciate it! Yes, I understand the big places like Walmart and Food Lion aren't like that, just giving a different angle. I also have neighbors that will call me in middle of night if trucks start showing up.

Tough #### for your neighbors. I am going to guess that your business or a business has been there longer than they have been in their houses. Just like here people wanting to make train quiet zones through town. Well I can tell you that those tracks have been there longer than the houses. Can you tell I hate whiners? As for the noise from trucks at your plant, you get used to it. I have trains that go by my house all night and now I don't even hear them. Sounds like a good place for straight pipes.

LOL....spoken like someone that has never owned a place of business with trucks coming and going. The city/town can make life miserable, I choose to make peace rather than wars. If it means helping truck drivers find a good place to park, then I guess I'm a bad guy, lol.

I've parked outside there before, it's one of the few places you can park in the bay area when your low on hours. It's right outside the gates, heavily lit up and usually 5 or so other trucks breaking there. It's right by the 880 freeway and completely out in the open. Seemed like a safe place (for Oakland) to park. Sad to hear this.

Move your buisness to a more truck friendly area or just use trains. Or better. Yet Mr robber don't shoot this broke as truck driver let me drop you off at the shipper and you can shoot his family not me my family needs me.

Nope, I just choose to live in a state where all the ninnies get too cold and move back where they came from. We have trucks coming and going all the time and not all of them are ours. People here tend to just mind their own business and not piss and moan about every little noise. right next to a residential area and everything. As a matter of fact one driveway takes us within 15 feet of a house and our trucks are not quiet like these new ones are.

Different areas of country are, well, different, lol. Doesn't apply to where I am. I've built a plant where I am, it isn't getting up and walking away. A simple phone call ahead solves all the problems. No night truck parking, it's very easy. Gate locked at closing time, last guy out locks it.
