Yeah, we run 10 trucks and our yard has no fence but we all leave the keys in the ignition. Only one driver locks things up but he is a whiney old ####### anyhow.... LOL

I'm going to be one of those old guys before I know it.

Only been doing flatbed since June. The only thing I've found that I don't like is standing on a 13' 6" load in the wind and rain. Wind blew the rinkity old worn out ladder I climbed up there with once over lol.

Worst part?? Trying to get the load locks to work,,seems they do not grip very well on the sides
Diesel Dave and Chewy352 Thank this. -
Or trying to figure out where to put the seal.....Diesel Dave Thanks this.

Pulled van one time Mi to FL to switch out to another truck and pick up flat hated every mile of it

That's funny, I started out driving a semi pulling a hopper, but I quickly move to hauling equipment. I did that for 13 years then when the economy tanked my father in law talked me into going to work for Fedex freight. The first day I was out on my own with a single axle tractor and a 48' van I was nervous as heck, I had been dragging a super trailer for the last 3 years and had sweaty palms over a little van.pigeon river trucking Thanks this.

I have been watching this post and trying to think of something besides tarpping because that's obviously the biggest pain in the ###. I have now figured out the worst thing about flatbed.
"Having to spend your weekend at a truck stop because the receiver is closed for the weekend and your under a load 900 miles from home".Last edited: Jan 9, 2016
Teivel VP, Chewy352 and pigeon river trucking Thank this. -
that only happens to flatbedders?

I think way more then others yes. It's more common for flatbeds to be home for weekends. Do you agree?Chewy352 Thanks this.
