I'm asking for my husband who is unhappy with his current company. He's looking for a regional company driver position near Dallas that is home weekly, allows riders and pets, and can bring home around $50k+ per year. We've been looking at Schneider, Autozone, Ashley's, and Walmart but Walmart and Ashley's aren't hiring right now.
He's going to talk to a Schneider recruiter tomorrow. There's a Walmart and an Autozone DC about 5 miles away, but I keep reading conflicting info on Autozone's pay, so I'm unsure about that one.
I'm aware Walmart is OTR and not guaranteed home weekly, but he's heard so many good things that he'd jump at the chance if an opening came up.
Are there any others that you might recommend?

heard that wally assigns you to a dc that needs a driver and it may not be the dc in your area. he could get assigned anywhere in the country and not be home for months. once a spot in the dallas dc opens he can transfer but they only allow a 34 at the house. if you show up to the dc early they make you work the dock until your clock is up. also they force you to give them access to phone records to see if you are texting while driving. plus they dress you up like a postman with a tucked in shirt. id never work for wally

I don't know who you spoke to but Ashley Furniture is definitely hiring out of Dallas right now for PTP and LTL. The typical freight companies are always hiring around there and those guys are usually home daily , however if he takes a linehaul job over a p&d , he'll most likely be doing night shifts..There are so many options to make over $50k and be home every day in that Dallas-Ft Worth area
Also ,check Indeed.com ; there's over 7000 cdl jobs listed right now. -

Another option, though I'm sure they wouldn't make your kind of money, is working as a yard spotter at one of those DC's near you.
