I take my 30 lb Blue Heeler/Corgi mix with me at times. Yeah he sheds A LOT but he rides well. Got him from someone that picked him up from a shelter. Said he was chasing the deer and elk on their property.... Well Duh! You have a herding and a hunting dog mix and the instinct is natural and strong.

I had him 2 days and was walking through our yard with him to put some stuff in my truck. He took off after a rabbit and all I had to do was holler for him to stop and he did. From then on I knew he was going to ge ok. He is 2 years old and I found him on Craigslist.

Sorry peeps, dogs do not belong in a truck.I understand you love your dog,but a truck barely supports a driver.
I dont enjoy dog hair everywhere,or an animal in my bed.

I guess you have not trained your dog well. Mine, I could not even get him into the sleeper when I drove one for a few days. He likes to sit in the passenger seat. Hair only gets everywhere if you are a slob and don't clean your truck.

Although this is just your opinion, how big are you? Most trucks today can support two full grown men, very easy to support one man/woman and a dog,if your a 400lbs slob who doesn't clean your truck, that's on you

    6'2,235.
    People complain about smokers trucks,..
Im not cleaning up,after a big smelly dog.
Having a maltese ride along,is one thing, but driving around with a big,pit bull is silly.
Your truck is going to stink.
    No thanks.

Not any worse than a lot of the drivers. Besides, wtf you doing in my truck? Good way to get hurt.

So this whole thing is because you think my truck is going to stink. You are not even going to be in my truck. You could not handle the boss I work for.

    Lol.
    Your right!
Most guys traveling with their pit bull, come from places, where they steal your shoes, during the night.
Saw a guy getting repairs done, with his pit bull on leash, for 4 hours,in the parking lot.
    I just laughed.

These posts have been most helpful. I now see the error in my ways. I'll drop off my GSD at the closest animal shelter this afternoon. I'll miss him, the protection, the companionship, the love, the joy I get from training him everyday. But since you say he doesn't belong in a truck, I'll give this all up, thank you.

P.S., I'll bet my dog wouldn't like you.

Also, keep in mind that some shipping and receiving plants do not allow dogs onto their properties.

Good luck in your new career!

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
