There a small company based out of Richmond VA and so far GREAT. I just came over from Werner Thursday very little comparison.
The trucks have no apu but they they do have power converters already in the truck so bye bye to all those 12 volt cigarette plug ins. Also you can plug a microwave plus they already have a mini frig that's right a mini frig in the Volvos. Its really a show room truck with the couch and table I'll just sleep on the top bunk it also has a latter. All there trucks are automatics which is great.
I Came over when I seen another driver at a truck stop. He was do amped when he found out I live by the terminal. He was so excited so one day talk to the drivers the only complaint I heard Is they run you to death. Every driver will tell you they have a ton a ton of miles always moving. The best complaint I ever heard. And paid every other week going to miss every week but less bs ill take it. But other drivers says they like it bigger check and a extra day off doesn't hurt.
Orientation is orientation a lot of info to go over avout a day and a half which isn't bad. Start off 35 cpm 10 more if you run the northeast anything above va basically. Get you home when you want to which is good. Miles pay are really good about 1 to 3 miles off which is goid none of that 20 mile difference so really like that.
Small company feel everyone's friendly , laid back I'll I have to do is drive first load going from Richmond VA to Brea Ca and back. Ill give an update by the weekend.

Good luck! I have a buddy of mines that started a few weeks ago and believe me they have the miles. Werner has nothing on a outfit like Abilene.
JohnBoy Thanks this. -
While im not a driver, I do follow a thread about Abiliene. They do a lot of loads for Hill Phoenix, the maker of those coolers inside supermarkets. I've seen a lot of their rigs and spoken to a few drivers who were happy to drive for them. The one downside is NYC loads. Good luck and keep us posted.
Mr klean2k12 and JohnBoy Thank this. -
The trucks have bunk heaters. You can idle below 35 and over 72 (I think it is).

Update
So far great on my way to Ohio then shoot down for a reset great week great miles. For a small company they have a lot of trucks on the road and all the drivers are friendly this has to be a great company. I heard a few drivers say family an I'm really starting to see why they genuinely want to know you an there great people (trust me I met some jerks) I have the coolest driver manager. I mean he gives me all the info so it's not like I'm waiting and thinking what's going to happen next. I'm pretty sure that I would be here for a long time.JohnBoy and Mr klean2k12 Thank this. -
So no posts in over a year... Curious as to how things are going for you at Abilene.
I started with Abilene the first week of August and still in their trading program but I can attest to everything posted above. Great equipment and very friendly folks and miles after miles... In two months of training, this is the first weekend I am just sitting to make a drop on Monday morning. Normally you make a drop and then the QualComm goes off with your next load and you are off running again.
So far I think I made a great choice in who to start driving with. Looking forward to many years with Abilene to come.
Any questions, just ask.
Stay Safe,

How much northeast running do y'all do
-
I hit NYC a couple times during training but the closest since then was one trip to NJ... I have gone to our "Northeast Region" several times but it's not a big deal and the extra 10 CPM for that area is always welcome too.
Are you looking for options for the NE or looking to avoid that area? -
Avoid if possible
-
It's not a daily or weekly thing for sure.
But we are all 48 so we hit it occasionally.
