Not every company is desperate.
I would agree that most of them are. -
Short answer is no, the company I work for is currently on a hiring freeze. I'm the newest one here and they don't plan on hiring again until spring unless a truck comes open, which don't happen often here.

You must be thinking of CRST.darthanubis and rabbiporkchop Thank this.
-
Both of those companies sound about the same to me. Anyone that hires truck drivers right out of truck driving school generally has a high turnover rate excluding the LTL companies
-
Where are companies supposed to hire drivers from? Hire only experienced drivers? How does a driver get experience if no one will touch them?
I appreciate your radio comments RP, but you sound like one of the trolls who stalk the mega carriers forums and give their drivers a hard time for trying to establish a career. Every one of the supa truckass here started as a green horn somewhere.
Why do grown men behave this way?
If it doesn't apply to you then respect. If it does, let's just be cool man.Last edited: Jan 11, 2016

Short question, is your carrier a mega?
-
Why are they "desperate"? They don't seem to be hurting for cash or drivers.

If they hire student drivers and advertise on craigslist they have a bunch of recently vacated trucks. On the other hand, companies like Gilster Mary Lee don't need to advertise at all and only hire with a couple years experience because they have no turn over at all until people retire. -
Job openings at Gilster-Mary Lee change on a daily basis. Applications are accepted continually year round
