Appreciate it, Talked to a recruiter yesterday just called the the # on website, he didnt tell me much. Keep telling me about the loads coming out of IL. Which were all Chicago loads, asked what I needed to get started, how much money needed up front ? Really no answers, trying to figure out what all I need to do an have before I submit the app
    Thanks again

Not sure how much of a help I'll b, but here goes. When I came 2 orientation I had already payed my 2290 & had my twic but I needed all the equipment. My equipment came up 2 around $4,000 but u only put half down and the vast majority of that cost was the headache rack; u can go cheaper or more expensive. The drvr I teamed up w ended up getting all his stuff 4 around $2,500; & there was still an option 2 go cheaper, I was told 2 show up w at least $1,600.

If you plan on pulling open deck, Mercer requires you to have either a head ache rack, or a front head board on the trailer. The recruiter can give you a list of starter equipment you are expected to have. Chains, binders, and the head ache rack are the most expensive. any junk yard will have used head ache racks for sale for about two hundred and fifty bucks. Chains and binders can be found used on craigslist. Also the warehouse is always full of used equipment for sale.

So what you need once you are approved is either all your equipment, or enough money to buy from Mercer with half down. And a truck that will pass a very strict inspection.

    DBofIL Thanks this.
