    Davenport, IA at the J.

It was an uneventful and nice day. Great weather. Clear and hardly any wind.
I got to my delivery an hour early and they seemed surprised that I said it was a drop. I guess there aren't too many of those there. But since there were a couple empty Swift trailers they let me drop it.
Lucky for me, or I would have been third in line for a single dock.

My next pick up was all too easy. A preloaded trailer and the shipper was very quick with the paperwork.

Now I'm headed to Aurora, CO to deliver at King Sooper.
Although, the load was late to begin with and the new delivery appointment isn't until Sunday at 0800.

Anyone know how the freight is in Denver?
If it's green I might be able to t-call it and keep moving.
I would feel a bit bad pawning off a load going to King to another driver a day or so later, for such short miles and the time they take, but I've had a bad couple weeks.

The window at Lancaster told me I hey had 150 trucks sitting this morning. I should probably go get my new tires and alignment while I'm here.

    Counsel Bluffs, IA at TA.

The starter on the truck is giving me problems, or perhaps it is a flat spot on the flywheel.
It's been acting a bit funny for some time, but today when I got back in at a truck stop and turned the key nothing happened for a few seconds. Then some grinding noise. I tried it again and got it to start.

I was worried that it may not start the next time so I just let it idle when I got fuel. I didn't want to get stuck on the fuel island.
When I got here I turned it off to put some laundry in, and it would not start when I came back. Just the pause and then gears grinding.
I called on-road and they called the TA shop. They were not set up to fix that, if it was the flywheel, so Swift decided to tow me to the Volvo dealer in Omaha.
Well, after the load was repowered.

A t-call was set up at the TA and I waited for the repower, uncertain how we were going to unhook the trailer.
A bit later I tried to start it again, and this time I let it grind a few more seconds.
    It started!

I called on-road, then a DM, and explained that I would be keeping the load and the t-call/repower could be removed.
I just won't turn the truck off in the meantime.

I just really didn't want to be stuck at a dealer for who knows how long, so when I got it started I tried very hard to stay on this load until I can at least get to the Denver shop.
And I figure the fuel I burn will be far cheaper for Swift than having the work done at a dealer.

I'll get to Denver tomorrow night, or maybe Saturday morning sometime, and bring it to the shop.
They can easily repower it from there if need be.
If it is just the starter they might even be able to get it done in time for me to deliver the load Sunday morning.

    HousTank Thanks this.
