You arent stuck. Nobody checks that. People are just telling you they check because they dont want you to lie. But if illegals can lie about being citizens and get jobs and everyone feels sorry for them then you can lie about a meaningless hs diploma.

Don't get me wrong I do feel bad about lying. If I didn't I wouldn't have cared to post. But when you work 2 jobs as it is and still face the fact that you need something better or your going to be homeless. It gets to the point where ya have to do something. I can say atleast I'll be trying to make it right by getting it even if it is after.
goin2fast10, roadmap65, Chinatown and 1 other person Thank this. -
I personally dont care about your lie, but the company might. Leave your current job on good terms for an emergancy backup plan. I wish you luck, hope for the best, prepare for the worstgoin2fast10 Thanks this.

I wouldn't think that school will care but I'd be asking them to be on the safe side.wouldn't be too peachy getting sent home on your first day.

Ten years ago was in C-1 school with a guy that claimed he had his GED (don't really know if he did/didn't). He was required to take some kind of test (on a computer) I guess to see if he was literate. He passed the test, said it was easy. He was being sponsored by PAM.
-
I would guess that 50% of the truckers i know dont have a ged or HS diploma.
They just wanted to verify he could spell PAM. He was hired and is now a productive member of society.goin2fast10 and GoneButNotForgotten Thank this. -
I started driving with Swift even went to their 'School' back when they still had one in San Antonio.
But really don't remember them asking for GED/HS Diploma. -
I have never seen or heard about a trucking caring whether a driver had a diploma. They care that you have a CDL, med card and whatever endorsements you may need. I wouldn't worry in the least.

Most the online apps dont ask the year you graduated or the name of the high school

well I hate to be the one to encourage you in your lying but, first and foremost you look out for number one. you need the job. ok so you stretched the truth a bit. you have things scheduled for testing. if by chance they ask you later, tell them you understood the question to mean did you have or were you getting the GED. in this case yes you are definitely getting it.
will they ask? I highly doubt it. do not, under any circumstances, mention it to any one near the school or company you will be working for. people are all too willing to throw someone under a bus in order to show their own ethical superiority.
don't stop going after it just because you get a job though. that piece of paper is important.
BTW for future reference, I would tell you that most employers would see a response of, "I am currently pursuing my GED" as very noble, and not a reason to not hire you.ethos Thanks this.
