Yeah, their pretty simple to use. Usually you'll find them in high volume distribution plants that have several yard jockeys working at a time. Dispatch will place move's that is needed to be done and it goes to the computer screens that are in the jockey trucks. They hit accept on the screen and once finished hit complete and move to the next one. No need to be in contact with dispatch because everything that needs to be done is on the screen. They even have GPS map to show where the trailer is located and where it needs to be placed at. Very convenient. Every move is stored in the computer, so there's no discrepency if any mistakes were made. They also have 2 way radio's just in case the computer acts up. I personal like the computer, rather than doing it by 2 way radio. Especially when you work in union shops were everyone is accountable for their actions, even management.

Once in a while, my outfit assigns me to shuttle loads or preload trailers. Upside is that I know when I'll be home. I also get paid mileage plus hourly pay and a fixed amount for each trailer.

I do yard work. I love it. Make good money. Home everynight. Off weekends. Slow periods Jan thru Sept most nights dont need a lot moved and there are 2 of us so we sit and wait most times. There are nights we only do 2 hours actual work.
