We are in and around 2009 lows, but back then fox and every other news source blasted recession recession. Now according to media and berry, things are great! Yet we are at lows. What happens when he media reports about recession?

Cyclical economy: It has to go up and down to work.

If it didn't, the rich couldn't get richer.

Public perception, as exemplified by a story I heard years back-
In the late 20s, there was a blind man who sold hot dogs on Wall Street. He made a decent living, not lavish but supported his family. He came every day, sold hot dogs from his cart, went home and got ready to do it again. As time moved on into the 30s, he kept on with his daily routine until one day someone said "Hey don't you know we're in a depression?". Hearing that, he packed up his cart, went home and agreed that the economy was quite bad.

The bigger concern right now is that China is imploding and taking the world's markets with it. Twice this week they have halted trading to try and suppress the cash hemorrhage.

You got that right. About every 7-10 years things take a nosedive. Hoping things will pick up later this year but only time will tell.

    I'm not tooooo worried yet.

Remember when they basiclly threatened to mandate all trucks without clean burning engines and DEF would not be allowed to renew their registration?

It seems like every mega-carrier advertises "new trucks!" I'm in a 2013 Kenny now that was part of the 1st wave of our company's overhaul and is now one of the oldest tractors we have.

It's called "pulling forward" and it's something that befuddles the auto industry every so often. You offer huge incentives to get sales in December and then you are shocked, SHOCKED!! that sales in January fall off a cliff.

Plus financing rates just went up.
I'd wait until we have two slow quarters to worry. And tractor sales might be down for the next 2-3 years. Like I said, everyone has a rig designed to last 20 years less than 5 years old.
