Shoot Queenie every time I go to Vegas I'm donating paychecks to multi million dollar corporations. And ever once in a while to lil bitty sole proprietorships with tasty racks![]()

I saw something about this on the evening news also. The data on the used truck market was also down 20% in price on 3-5 year old trucks for November and December sales.
I have a couple of charts I am trying to copy and post here to show you all what the predictions are through 2020. So far, I can't get them to copy.scottlav46 Thanks this. -
Is that what you call working?

scottlav46 Thanks this. -
sorry....still can't get it to copy the chart

I guess because this is a premium site I can't download this into a format that I can post. Here is the link.....take a look at 2017. http://www.statista.com/forecasts/4...reight-trucking-revenue-forecast-naics-484122
If you really look at it, even after 2017 the market becomes stationary or basically stagnant.
Here are the predictions for commercial truck sales. While there is a projected increase from year to year it isn't much and would probably fall within the realm of replacing non-operational equipment. http://www.statista.com/statistics/325597/estimated-truck-sales-in-the-united-states/Last edited: Jan 14, 2016

Having a princess requires purchasing a certain amount of bling!

Truck sales might have slowed down cause in the last few years all the big companies have turned their entire fleet over with new trucks. These new rules are knocking out the small guy so who is going to buy the trucks then? Just my opinion, probably a dumb one so please don't kill me for it
-
I think that is part of it. It's probably a combination of things .....many of the small carriers no longer own their own trucks, they lease them,.. then you have the new standards for fuel emission and consumption starting to phase in. How long does a major carrier normally keep a truck? Some of the new standards go into effect in less than 2 years ....2018 trucks. If your trucks aren't that old, you might put off buying new ones.
Overall, the predictions and forecasts by economists are for a turn down in the economy and then a leveling off or stagnant demand. Why invest in new equipment under those circumstances? I would probably be a little cautious and wait on any major business purchases also. ....or slow down the rate of purchasing.
