tommy, I'm not sure of your location but there is an ad on TTR for the Florida Coast Career Tech @ Florida State College at Jacksonville and has tuition pegged at $2,400. I ran a Google search and think some of the links were dead so maybe they're not around any more, but worth looking into if you are close to JAX.
Also, I cannot remember where I found this list, but I copied and saved it. Here are the listings for Florida that offer CDL training;
J-Tech FL Jacksonville, FL
Mid - Florida Tech FL Orlando, FL
National Training Inc FL Orange Park, FL
NBI Truck Driver Training FL Winterhaven, FL
Pinellas Techincal Education Centers (PTEG) FL St Petersburg, FL
Sage / Indian River State College FL Ft Peirce, FL ($4,800 as of Nov 2015)
South Florida State College FL Avon Park, FL
Suncoast Trucking Academy FL Punta Gorda, FL
TDI FL Milton & Sanford, FL
TDI FL Sanford, FL
The CDL School FL Miami, FL
Indentured Servitude or $6,000?

By the time I figured paying for school and lodging and food only to hire on with Schneider at 27cpm for 6 months so i would be allowed to try their one year lease program , I still think I am money ahead going with Henderson s company training for a year.
-
You mentioned New Stanton. Are you speaking of Pennsylvania?
-
Yes. They start new classes once a month and from the sounds of it, roughly the 7th or 8th of the month give or take. The one on one instruction is a big draw for me but I have not committed to Sage or any private school for the matter.
-
Well I hope that $0.27 cent offer from Schneider was from 5 or 10 years ago. They told me it would be roughly $0.39 to start. That's pretty good to start and somewhat in line with Prime or others. I think Swift starts at about $0.33 now.

Have you called PIA in West Mifflin?

This is where I went 14 years ago. I feel it was pretty good training.
I think schooling is so expensive in our area because of the gas industry. -
That's a new one for my list!! Thanks. Never heard of them but I am literally looking at every single option I have.
Any idea of the tuition cost? -
I do like Hendersons program also.
One of their drivers posted about the 2016 model trucks; refrigerator, direct tv, apu, etc.
Wil-Trans has some good looking trucks too and also associated with Prime. -
I've kind of created my own rating system and Prime is in the top 5. Everyone may have different needs in a company, but I think Prime would fit my needs fairly well. And I'm hearing some fairly decent comments from people that just went through their program.

I have no clue. I think I payed almost $4000 back in 2002 or 2003. Like I said, most likely is expensive due to gas industry. Too bad the prices don't come down with market fluctuations.
