Efficient loading question:

Does anyone have a special way of really cramming a 53' box full?

I'm running up against a wall, and its literally the wall.

Just stuffing my pallets in there, I can fit 26 of them, but my coworker says he has a better way. (Leave it to a Chinese guy)

He says that by turning a few of the pallets sideways, that I can load 32 pallets, which would save me a lot of stress!

Has anyone heard of this method, or tried it?

I know we can squeeze an extra 2 pallets in our 20' box using his way. I was just curious if anyone else has a pattern to maximize the used space.

 

Weight isn't an issue. It's lettuce. Starting my run out the door, East of Banning, I wish I were heavier sometimes, when the wind gets pushy.

If I can fit 30 in, all sideways, hell, I'll make it happen. This thing is packed, back to front, floor to ceiling, and loose boxes filling in the cracks.

The receiver won't accept the loose boxes though, so those only help when I'm at the other farm.

I'm trying to avoid my boss trying so send a less than loaded mid-week delivery of about 8 pallets, between my normal 2 deliveries.

I'd be all about it, if they could harvest and load me in less than 10 hours, but I only have a small window of time to do the run legal, and reach the receiver, and then the other farm, which they're not good about keeping in mind.
