Marble Falls, TX to Sandy, UT. Construction company said they HAD to have the replacement vanity for an executive bathroom the next morning at 0:700 or they loose their completion bonus. Left TX about 09:00. I got there at 0:500 with snow in UT. They said "Thanks, bye". I said, "Never again".

Seattle to Denver with one fuel stop....and a Utah trooper scratching his head
Wichita Falls to Houston to Amarillo with a 90 minute unload at the port and a 45 minute reload.

When I was younger and still trying to make my mark in the trucking industry, I used to run way over on my funny book all the time. In hindsight, the money that I made bypassing scales and cheating my logs was the change I had in my pocket. It's really not a matter of how far you have driven but how long you have been up. I've had a few close calls in my career and it was usually due to being tired and/or in a hurry.
Truck driving is a thinking job. When you quit thinking, that's when you will get yourself into trouble.

Cambridge, OH to Bennett, CO..including a wrong turn somewhere near Indianapolis which caused me to see if my GPS unit could fly by throwing it out the window.

I used to run a strict schedule. Two different variations. Either sleep 2-5 am on schedule and naps at customers , or sleep at 9 pm wake up at 2:15, shower, coffee, snack for later, 2:45 on the road until 9 pm again. If not tired just keep going til 2-5 am. Etc. No stops except fuel. Now I hate driving more than 400 miles.

Back in 99 had a 15.5 hour Driving day that covered LEGALLY over 1100 miles in that time. At least that is what the Comic Book said I was running Loose Leaf at the time. However I really cranked out over 1500. I ran from Sailinas CA to Salem IL in less than 42 hours elapsed time. Total time from pulling out of there to relay the load was 41 hours. I then backed it up 2 days later with a 38 hour run out to LA from Salem. Why 2 days later my truck decided that it needed a new Turbo and had to go into the shop.

16 hours, as soon as that 16 hits calling the boss say pick this fkin truck up. Never done OTR, always local, but heard it all. Know someone that ran Chicago to cali there and back in 3 days . Eventually fell asleep behind the wheel and killed a whole family of 5. I know the money is addicting but not worth it. Drive safe
