My Coleman stopped cooling so I used it as an ice cooler for awhile... What a major PITA....
So I went to Walmart and they had none on display... But I spotted one behind some other stuff on a top shelf. I checked the price and it rang up at $45.... I bought that thing and got the hell out of Walmart before they discovered that's more than 1/2 off!! Hahaha
Even came with the 120v adapter

I've said this before in other posts and it bears repeating here.

If you do wind up with or have a "Thermo Electric" cooler (Think Coleman, Koolatron etc) these things were not designed to run 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.

1st thing I did once I realized how much water they produce over a couple of days, was to line the bottom with a dish towel. I change it out every 3-5 days.

The fan maintenance has already been covered.

Next is when I'm ready to hit the bunk, I unplug it. In the winter, I also keep it out of the way of my Webasto so it stays cooler. First thing I do once I'm up, is plug it back in. Items stay cold all night without spoiling and the motor gets a break. As for the plug that often gets a bad rap, when you go to unplug it, grasp the PLUG, NOT THE LINE. And when you unplug it, pull it firmly straight out.

@ncmickey's story is funny because I wound up getting mine 3 years ago from Wally World the exact same way and almost the same price (Mine had no box and they rang it up for 40.00)

Sometime this year, once I get something to or around Georgetown, I plan to go by their shop and get either a Norcold or a Dometic installed once and for all.

Trust me guys of ever get a real compressor type portable fridge you'll quickly find how superior it is to the cheap Coleman(etc) thermoelectric coolers.

Thermoelectric is a huge power hog on your batteries overnight compared to a real compressor fridge.

The compressor uses 1/4 the battery power to run and will stay ice cold in a 100F+ cab temp.
