    Tough
    adjective, tougher, toughest.
    1.
strong and durable; not easily broken or cut.
    2.
    not brittle or tender.
    3.
    difficult to masticate, as food:
    a tough steak.
    4.
of viscous consistency, as liquid or semiliquidmatter:
    tough molasses.
    5.
capable of great endurance; sturdy; hardy:
    tough troops.
    6.
not easily influenced, as a person; unyielding;stubborn:
a tough man to work for.
    7.
    hardened; incorrigible:
    a tough criminal.

Watch any sports? No matter what sport, all the people on top have 1 thing in common. Toughness. Is toughness a hereditary trait? How does one become tough? Load an app on a phone? Have a doctor write a prescription for iron pills? Or is it a mental decision that you make that you will do what you have to do to take care of you and yours?

MAN UP- to fulfill your responsibilities as a man. That's a 21st century phrase because those old hands didn't know that being a punk was optional.

You know, I wonder how some of the people ever got through life without ever holding a difficult job. When I was a kid, I got a job with a roofing crew. Anyone ever do any roofing? In the summer? You will NEVER see a roofer complain about tarping. I have never seen a tarp job that could compare to roofing. Ever climb 3 stories up a ladder carry 2 bundles of shingles in100 degree weather? Anyone ever hang Sheetrock? Anyone ever drive nails?

Anyone ever fell trees with an axe for firewood? Swinging all day, the first time you do, your hands cramp up and blister and hurt like hell. And that shock of the axe hitting the wood vibrates through the handle through your arms and down our spine. The you carry it all home and load up the porch. When the blisters heal, your hands are so tough that you can slap people and kill them.

Ever run a beer truck? Each load on that hand dolly weigh 600 lbs. Foodservice too. Yes, you're out in the elements ALL DAY. You get use to it. You will never see a former beer man complain about tarping.

There are more difficult trucking jobs than flatbedding. I think the car haulers and bedbuggers have a more difficult job.

6-10 cans of tomatoes, 50 lb blocks of cheese, frozen fries, sides of beef, loaded on a hand dolly, climbing stairs. Yes, it's definitely work.
