    I would like these new May drivers to come here in about lets say sometime after you have been at the company for at least 6 mo's and let us know if you miles are dropping of.

    The reason I ask this is because I only hung out there for a little over 6 mo's, and the trainee I got to sign on there got fed up with low utilization after a year, and said adiós.

    It was my experience that May's runs are often to short and take to much time loading or unloading. They have very little after hours support, they don't pay to wash the truck often enough, many of their trailer are in appalling condition, and their terminals are substandard.

    Single drivers and newbies who have no financial responsibility's should make enough to survive at May, but not really a good fit for a family man or homeowner. Just not enough freight base and to much time on the loads. They will run you good for a while but then have to cut you back to keep a new hire happy.

    I liked the people at May and was happy most of the time, but it just did not fit my driving habits to only average 8 hrs or less of paid work and 6 hours for free on a daily basis.


    As far as getting fired for having their truck at home and then going out drinking? What a load of bull. I took my truck home every to weeks and you can drink yourself into unconsciousness as long as the truck stays parked.

    You are off duty during home time and home time only. If you swing by the house you don't drink because you are only released from duty status during scheduled home time. This might be why the guy got fired. But drinking during home time? no way.

    i have my 6 mo's in now and my miles have gotten better since feb. to now.

    i am in payette got my b serv. complete and now am waiting for a dispatch.

    my inverter was installed by the shop, so i am closer too having everything i want in the cab.

    BigRay.......Did they ask what inverter you were installing?

    I will go over 6 mos next trip. Just looked at my most recent pay stub. I took my ytd net(bring home) pay and divided by the number of weeks I have worked and I am averaging $539. Now before any one mistakingly gets the wrong impression. That figure includes 5 hometimes, 4days. 9 days, 5 days, 7 days and 6 days. So that would be over 4 weeks(31 days) off. So that would make it 22 weeks total with the company with 4 plus weeks off. So if you divide by my actual weeks Driving I would average $658. I think that is pretty good. It is also an average of 2812 miles. I might add with no drop off, in fact miles are increasing.

    Hank, no they did not ask about the size of the inverter and had no problem installing the wires or unit.

    alas, i still am in payette, with no load and probally not going to be offered one today either, things are very slow up here again. uuuugggggghh

    well the scuttle butt going around here is that the trucks have been turned down to 60mph now, where was the heads up from our DM's. ?

    gosh this is going to really su##, and once again the drivers are offered nothing for this slow down.:biggrin_25512:

    BigRay....you need to get away from the Terminal and those diseased Drivers. They are affecting your morale. I was told today by Steve. It is not in stone. Just remember that it is only 30 miles if you are driving a 10 hour day. The benifit to us is that we get to keep our jobs. Times are tough for everyone. Im not preaching to you. I like you too much to do that. Just another point of view.

    they have been lieing to you they have the americold account just accross the bridge in oregon.
    May hauls alot of loads out of that place.
    I picked up there sereval times my last time My load time was aprox 2:30 am they got me in there early I ended up sitting at the dock for about 8 hours got stiffed on detention pay I was hot about that but atleast I did get some good sleep once I bumped the dock I went to the sleeper and caught some zzzzzzzzzzzzz's.

    They came knocking on my door about 7:00 am and said they are runing behind and they were sorry for keeping me.
    I looked at the guy told him no problem atleast I did get some sleep.

    The safty guy in payette is suppose to be a real butt hole.

    MGAS...they do have lots of loads out of Americold. but everything has its cycles. I talked to BR on the phone he got something headed east today.
