The b can be a good warmup, though.

Yes b is easier to get
    Yes most b is local
    Don't know about dac
Pay varies drasticly depending on what you do.
Usually involves either palet Jacks and lift gates or ramps and dollys.
I got a class b driving job right out of school. 50k a year but have to move 2000 lb pallets

I am forklift certified, but that only helps load the truck. Unloads are mostly lift gate and pallet jack. The heaviest I ever have are 2500 lbs, most are between 1000 and 2000 lbs. I usually unload about 20 pallets a day at various stops. It's not bad until you have to go uphill, or when there is snow and ice. When that happens, if the store wants their delivery they have to help, or it stays on my truck. I volunteered for the heavy lift gate loads, I like it better than taking a lot of individual pieces on a 2 wheel dolly on a ramp repeatedly.

Also keep in mind that in a class b truck you will have to get into extremely tight areas. Class b trucks get sent where class a trucks can't go

I have Class A But drive a B truck right now. I make 26$ per hour with crazy OT if wanted but its Delivering home heating fuel to an average of 25 homes a day. During icy snowy weeks be preapared to throw chains sometimes 2-3 times a day. Crazy hills/driveways dangerous as hell
