If the light goes in, its passive regen. Keep rolling, it takes about 35 minutes to complete. Going to a stop will cancel the regen and you have to start it over again. If the light flashes, then its telling you system needs to do a parked regen since you egt is too low, maybe rpm isnt high enaugh or any other malfunction of the system.

I usually do a parked regen when the light comes on and I am near a customer, or waiting.

My 515 Detroit was an '04 14L EGR model, and I got 6ish hauling a reefer with a midroof WS Lowmax. Low to mid 5mpg range is about where I'd expect a DPF-equipped model to be. DPF killed the Series 60, in my opinion.

bingo!!!, Im back to explain what I found, as conclusions (answers) to questions can help other operators too..

turned out my intercooler had hole in it and was loosing boost. this would make the exhaust hot... thank you to all who took the time to give their opinion. truck feels great now that turbo pressure isn't being lost. no more cels and goes up hills faster than 35mph...lol.

I do all the work I can myself to try and save my coin, so I don't know how much this would of cost had I taken it in to a shop. I had the cooler welded then pressure tested to 50 psi with no leaks..

    happy safe trucking, Troquero
