Strap on... The rub rail or strap under

Way back in the late 90s a flatbed trailer for some reason rubbed the side of trailer while passing thru a underpass then jerked the steering wheel and spilled a load with more damages than insur. would pay after that feds try to pass straps inside rails untill they got it written up a few years ago only to have it resend later?

 

I must say I have never seen this topic come up on this forum before. I can't wait to see the results...............

Proper Use of Tiedowns

The new regulations require each tiedown to be attached and secured in a manner that prevents it from becoming loose, unfastening, opening or releasing while the vehicle is in transit. All tiedowns and other components of a cargo securement system used to secure loads on a trailer equipped with rub rails must be located inboard of the rub rails whenever practicable. Also, edge protection must be used whenever a tiedown would be subject to abrasion or cutting at the point where it touches an article of cargo. The edge protection must resist abrasion, cutting and crushing.

 

Why in Gods name are we discussing this again????

Western Express hires them or rather puts them on a Lease Purchase so they can be owner/operator/mobile cooks.
