I did some research and on the Oregon Department of Transportation website they stated that as a policy they don't start assessing fines for being overweight unless it exceeds 1000 lbs. I've burned off enough fuel now that I'm under gross and just at 34,000 on the drives. I can make it into New Mexico before I need to fuel again.
Who would have run this?

Headed to the house? Yelp.
PackRatTDI Thanks this. -
I run Washington and Oregon every week, i'am always about 34,400 on my drives, and 12,250 on the steers when i'am full of fuel when I leave Yakima. First scale I hit is Madras OR on US97, it always shows 34,200-150 on the drives and 12100 on steers. I think as long as you are not more then 200 over, they let you roll. Only part for you, you have a long was to go, and have to play the fuel game.
xsetra and PackRatTDI Thank this. -
Don't try that in OH.........

I was right at 200 over. Seems to me this assumption has merit.

1000 lbs ?... oh ok if you say so but I won't test that out. I have heard over and over any scale house will allow up to 200 lbs . I have burned off 70 to 100 in fuel, that's about it.
and never overweight on tandems it's only on the drives.
I'll also go so far as to shift weights forward or backward if I can with a brake check works great if the room is there to shift it. sometimes its packed to tight. doesn't take much to shift it,
but thats me.. laugh awayLast edited: Jan 23, 2016

No problem. APU exemption gives you 400lbs.
mitmaks Thanks this. -
as long as you have an apu installed

They put a pinch too much on you but nothing I would waste a huge amount of time and hassle trying to correct. I would just slide the 5th wheel forward to even the tractor out and not top the tanks off and you're good to go.
