The big rectangular fluorescent light in the center of the sleeper roof. When I bought my truck used it was not there. Talked to a parts guy and he said they are very problematic, expensive and would not recommend buying the stock one. He said many guys make a wood plate to cover the hole and mount some led's on the wood in place of it? Anyone done this and have pics or have other ideas?

You can find a good used OEM replacement at any Truck Salvage Yard. The reason the OEM replacements are so expensive is because (besides the fluorescent light bulbs being replaceable), there are no User Serviceable Parts inside, so when it takes a dump, it's time to throw it away and replace.
I bought a used one at a Salvage Yard for $30 or you can try e-Bay. A new OEM one will set you back at least $200.
I would suggest obtaining the OEM part number and try a Google search using it to see who might have one.Last edited: Jan 18, 2016
