I would say big boy company means if your going to cry about every load because of where it's going or not a long enough run or you may have to touch some freight and call in to complain i would say keep looking for another company they want drivers with a brain and the understanding that you drive for a living
Ssand Man Thanks this. -
Good answers on the big boy company question. Good job. That's basically what I mean when I say that.
Freymiller, like a lot of other companies, has lowered their hiring standards and will now accept students. Not sure of the specifics tho. Contact recruiting for specific questions.
What I meant by doing what's needed to get the load delivered. NO! WE DO NOT CHEAT THE LOG BOOK!! I don't want some crazy rumor getting out that Sand Man said to blah blah..
If your detained, for instance, let's say 6 hours or so. This is VERY common with some shippers. Go ahead and sit the little extra time to log a split berth. The experienced drivers know what I mean about doing what needs done.
As for running hard, LEGAL!! I set my cruise on 60mph. I WANT THE BONUS$$$$$!!
Run hard, stay out of the truck stops when its time do drive. Keep your doors closed and GO! You'd be amazed how much more you can accomplish by NOT STOPPING!Sti400 Thanks this. -
Run hard.....many times I have left a shipper in the Bakersfield California area and run non stop to Kingman Arizona. I gotta admit, I'm all wired and "tingly" when I shut down after that. I believe with good traffic, that's a little over 7 straight driving hours.

How many miles would you say is running hard per day ?

on electronic logs anyways. granted idk how fast freymiller trucks run and I'm used to running out west and my truck is governed at 65.
-
How many miles per day? That all depends on where your driving. 500 miles in New Mexico and Arizona are a whole lot easier than 500 miles on I81!
I95 north of Richmond is getting more crowded.
I don't think it's all about how many miles in a day. I think its more about pushing in that yellow knob, and not pulling it back out until you have a fuel stop.
Also, when you do get fuel, try to kill as many birds with a single stone.....get fuel, take your 30 minute break, grab a shower while on break. Then don't stop again until your shutting down for the day.
Just my opinions.TheFriscoKid, scottlav46, Speed_Drums and 1 other person Thank this. -

As long as people are nice to me, I'll do anything I can to help. I usually avoid the drivers at the yard that hang out smoking. That ain't my crowd. I don't play well with others, and they're usually to busy telling lies to get any work done. I'm the Sand Man in the blue Pete. My real name is on the driver's side step box. I should be rolling in there Wednesday afternoon ish.
