LOL pretty much my first experience with one of those steerable dollies with one exception, the frequency of our trailers (which the mfg says is impossible) is effected by stop lights. I was going through an intersection with a 92' 98k beam and the light changed from green to yellow and the dolly changed from straight to turning right. Almost had that same wet feeling that you did. Another bad thing about that trailer is that occasionally the #### remote would stop working and the dolly would not respond.

The other 4 axle dollies that we use only crab left and right. One trip I made the corner and was straight but the wheels would not turn back. Blocking the intersection off an interstate exit and the pilot screaming on the radio to straighten the wheels at me. (like I didn't know) Come to find out, the pony motor had died. It was over a 100' behind me at the back of the trailer but the idiot pilot did not tell me the motor was stopped and it was LOUD enough for him to hear it with the window rolled up.

Right out out of high school, I was working for a local farm equipment dealer. This was about the time CDL laws went in affect. The truck and trailer they were running was less that 26K so CDL wasn't needed but the insurance company required drug testing. They had a couple of experienced drivers but I was the only one that could pass a drug test so I got the job.

I hauled everything. Wide, overweight, tall. If I could somehow get it on the trailer and tied down, I hauled it. Boss told me to go and I went. Got a lot less tickets than I deserved but you learn the laws real fast when the trooper prints it on a piece of paper.

This wasn't my first experience hauling though. My Granddad and Dad had trucks all my life. I hauled many loads local before I was even 16 years old with a old 1979 4300 Binder and a Chevy C60. Back then nobody would bother you local in my small town.

I remember hearing you talk about the dollies steering themselves at lights. I can't blame mine on the light, it was quite clearly the steerman!

Started driving dry vans, decided to go local. Found a decent spot for a previous employer... They said, hey.. take this trailer and go load this. Model 6000 Potato Planter. I thought I was going to have the worst neck cramps. Couple weeks later after pulling normal tractors and Dual Tire 7710's, they said it's harvest time, got to pull a bunch of combines at 14' and cotton pickers at 19'6 wide.

(riggers were out for side loading)

How do you like the landoll rgn? I use to drive a landoll 440 and always wondered how their rgn's were.

What is that on there? How did you side load it?

I drive a desk at a reefer company now and between work, moving and getting settled into my new home I haven't had time for much more than an occasional drive-by on here.
