what do you mean by saying engine monitoring system?

 

You probably thinking of something like the hum app with Verizon

 

Scangauge will let you monitor anything on the J1939 data bus.

 

There are cheap dongles you can plug in to car ecm's. Connect bluetooth to your phone. Apps are free.

I haven't found anything for semi's yet. And if there was, it probably wouldn't be cheap.

 

Here is a good program to use on a PC for what you want. But you'll need an adapter to plug in to the trucks diagnostic port. I use a Dearborn DPA-5, about $800.
