I had "Barney Fife" from Beverly Hills P.D. pull me over in my ten wheeler one day and he tried to get me for an overload which was a "load" of asphalt that was 2' X 2' X 6"-8" which when you looked at it, it was mostly air. He tried to tell me that hanging license plates holders were illegal and I asked him to show me where in the regs it stated that and I asked why are there only mount holes on the bottom of the bumper of a T-8 for the plates. He couldn't answer that one.![]()

As long as they have the badge and the gun they will do what they want-always have, always will. That being said, all citizens should know and exercise their rights, even if it means being "detained".
It is more convenient to consent to a search than to stand up and fight for our rights. If we don`,how much longer can we count on having rights? -
This terminology gives me an itch.
I'm hoping you meant that your truck driving related activities were open for inspection instead of you signed away your constitutional rights of protection against illegal searches & siezures.
There is/are legal differences between the two.Stomper4x4 Thanks this. -
Normally I would agree here. However, it is becoming more prevalent during traffic stops of any kind that searching is being done.
On the commercial level, I have never been asked. It should be noted that I, knock on wood, rarely get pulled over. I have seen trucks being searched truck and trailer.
My understanding, is that commercially, they have the right to enter the truck. The gray area is the sleeper. -
That's what I meant.
