Wow this just gets better by the day
Pull the dash panel the speedo is in and right about the steering column behind the dash panel there's fuse block holds 4 fusses check make sure non of them are blown
If there all good try to start the truck with starting fluid just mist it in the breathers and keep misting in there making it run if it will run on starting fluid but won't start on its own u got ECM problem
The starting fluid will not hurt ur motor unless u just get stupid with it just don't drowned it with it
Just FYI And there 2.5 amp fuses on all trucks thy won't just blow unless u got a short so dissregrad that post

    Luwi67 Thanks this.

I have never seen a shut off solenoid on an e-model cat. Somewhere on there all you have is a relay. He mentioned fuel was dribbling out the bleed. Disconnect the return line and crank it and see how much comes out. If none does then work your way back to see if there is a restriction or weak trans pump.

I never new why 2 fuses either. My big wiring schematic does not have the optional ammeter circuit so I'm sort of lost on that one. OK, now it makes sense why it's unswitched.

Shutoff solenoid, where would I find that on the 97 379?

Checked those fuses earlier today only this truck has three fuses inserted. From left to right 15a, 10a, 10a and the 4th is open. I don't even know what they are for, I can't find them on the wiring schematic.

Sorry dead post. You DON'T have a shutoff solenoid. On an e-model. It is just a relay that supplies power to ecm.

    Luwi67 Thanks this.

I tried a little starting fluid yesterday into the grill on the air cleaner, it had no response

    It will start on either
In stead of spraying it in the breathers on the driver side of the motor in the Middle of the head there's a 4" elbow coming out of the head that goes to the inter cooler on the bottom of that elbow there's a 1/4" plug pull that plug out get someone to cranck the truck why u mist it in there if u do it in the breathers it takes quit a bit before it get to the motor and it will tack out if ur spraying heavy the hole time

    Luwi67 Thanks this.
