Forced servitude was outlawed in the United States with the 14th amendment. Even if your under a contract your free to quit. There are thousands of local and regional companies in the United States that have nothing to do with DAC and if your otherwise qualified and they have openings will hire you. Yes you might have to pay the people back that provided your school, but honestly if its an honest debt why not pay it off? Lets make sure we ground this topic back to the facts.

    Agreed.

You can quit anytime you want but the company has every right to go to court and hold the signer accountable. Quitting doesn't make the contract go away. It's a mute point anyway, there is a whole generation that has no idea what a work ethic and responsibility is.

Honestly, I'm just curious, why did you quit?

They won't take you to court per say. They will put the overall loan debt on your credit score which will either force you to pay it off and then send in letters and deal with the hassle of trying to get a paid off loan off your credit score or you take the hit for 7 years. You might think , oh 7 years not so bad, until they contact you 6 years down the road and tell you that you owe this and have to pay. They may take you to court at that point. If nothing else it will take another 7 years after contact point to fall off a credit score. I guess it just depends how far they take it. It would have been worth him sticking it out though.

    Dryver Thanks this.

By law you have to give account for 10 yrs work history on all driving jobs
.... It would be wise to stick it out with the mega you are with, to finish out the contract and get your experience in
Sounds like you didn't have a good experience with your OTR training , very few of us can say we miss those days so you are normal
This job is not as easy & fun as it looks, this job can destroy marriages, this job can take you're life in 3 seconds, this job can land you in prison, this job can cost you alot of $
.... So you better learn all you can before making any more moves with your career before one or two of the above mentioned happens to you
At 65mph in a vehicle that wieghs in around 40 tons
You better have your ducks in a row , those big tanks on the sides of that equipment ? are bombs & not just fuel tanks in fact being burned alive is a big part of trucker death if they survive the sudden stop & twisted metal
... Are you sure you don't need more training? Or you can take a short cut here
Try to stay where you are if you can in the long run it will pay off
And this is probably not the answer you wanted to hear

    Bless you back
