I think it comes from blown gasket maybe. I just did the bottle test and coolant overflow tube was throwing up a bubble every 10-15 seconds. I'm gonna try to fix it with bars leaks coolant head gasket sealer

I'm curious how this "fix" worked out for you? I remember trying to talk you out of dumping that gunk into your coolant system.

Got me another 20k miles. I dumped unholly amount of different sealants researching which worked best. Did 4-7 tests. Turned out engine is good but needed a water pump lol. yey gunk. I am sure if i was like you and had CAT open it they would have been like ohh needs a $20k inframe. Over 1million mile trucks are unikorns only in your land. My 2004 freightliner has 1.35 million miles on it. My other 2000 freightliner 1.64 million miles. Never an inframe. A friend of mine has a 2000 freightliner columbia with 1.9 million miles that was in his family since new. Also never an inframe. All trucks running strong

also, i did another test to see if those bubbles were exhaust (which would mean blown gasket) but the bubbles turned out to be just air so gasket should be perfectly intact

after about a week i found this coolant sealant pellets (I forget who makes them). It was like $5 for 6 pellets. 6 pellets to seal 3 gallons of coolant system. Turned out that 1 pellet would seal my truck for 2k miles such that i wouldn't lose a drop of coolant. So that was a real cheap temporary fix. I must admit, would have been easier to just throw parts at the truck but thats no way to make money...

I'm glad putting gunk in your motor fixed it. You're the first person I've ever heard of to do it lol.

Could be coming from the overflow on driver side. Mines used to do the same thing when I fill it to the second line now I just keep it a lil below the second line and no problems. Now it just goes up and down on its own.

When coolant is coming out the overflow pipe, a decent mechanic should know what it means. Head gasket issue, pressure in the cooling system. Fix this before disaster.
