I-70 Chains

    I realized another good reason to have them no matter how good the weather is. If your truck breaks down, by the time it's fixed, you might need them.

    Thanks I was just asking because I had saw a sign board traveling east on I 70 said all mcg chains are required but I made it through as the roads were in good shape

    The signs at the state line and the signs at the 133mm are a bit confusing. If you aren't carrying chains from the 133 to 259 Sept. 1st to May 31st, you can be fined, if chains are required and you don't have them, you WILL be fined. Now, that said, there are chain law areas on US 287 So. of Lamar, on Co 71 between Limon and Brush, on I-70 just west of Limon, on I-76 N.E. of Denver. In 19 yrs of driving trucks in Colorado, I've chained on I-70 W. of Limon twice.

    well, that depends on how well you can whistle
