You will have to work your way up on the miles. It would help if you both have your haz-mat and tanker endorsements. Having those will put you at the top of the load list. Be patient. Once you hit the 6 month mark, as your fleet manager if you can be put on an engineered lane, this will give you guaranteed miles. Time off is 6 days OTR = 1 day of home-time. So 6 weeks out = 6 days home, but you might be able to squeeze 1 more day, just ask your FM. My theory is...it never hurts to ask...

They don't. But we do haul 250/500 gallon "totes" of liquid. So you will need your tanker endorsement. Its easy, just 20 questions.

Got my SS letter the other day, the one that shows how much money you made each year since you started working. The year I worked for Covenant I made about 22K. Not real great, but I;ve done worse.

Where are you going to orientation?

The money you make will depend on driving experience. Are you Students or experienced drivers? For my wife and I (we are on a dedicated lane). Here is what we made over the last 4 years...62k, 59k, 52k, 46k. That is each of course. Hope that helps.

It basically depends on your driving. With no accidents or citations, you could reach it in about 2-3 years. I can't remember exactly how long it took us.

I know they say you can do it in about a year, I figured it would take longer than that. Do you guys ever take extended time off for vacations?

The normal max home time is 7 days. But if you stay out 9 weeks, you can take 9 days home time (with your FM's approval). We always do 7 out and 7 home, that is our normal schedule.
