Unless you can walk on water don't work for N.R.T.
They fire anyone for any reason.
I drove for them for 2 weeks a long nose peterbuilt t#316 all around down town seattle with 53' trailer all over down town even on the peer 69 with out any issues.
My dispatcher loved me I was always on time if not early I even unloaded the trailer many times to save money for the company.
Then they get a report from an ex employer of mine who didn't want me to quit. That said " he bumped something" so with out asking me anything and Jeff that chicken mother flower piece of ya!!!!!!
Wouldn't return a phone call from me.
But they had no problems fireing me.
Even the owners kid said " I hate to loose you and you can use me as a reference any time and said keep the new boots I won't charge you but I'll,loose them in the transport of them.
Greg lies he will tell you " we will put you in a nice motel"
Well that motel sucks all you do is kill flies all night long.
    Then he'll tell you
" we will give you spending money"
I never got any they find a way to take your spending money.

And as far as my ex employers complaint it was that one time I was lost and the only place to turn around was an open gravel lot about 60 long and 30 wide but someone had an abanded motor home parked there I thought I could make the u turn no one was in the motor home.
So I tried and my overhang cought the front of the motor home so I finally found the owner ( who was gone)
And the owner a lady freaked out called the cops and the cops took my side and told her she shouldn't have parked in there because there's no other place along the whole 2 lane road to turn around a semi.

But trying to explain that to Jejj at N.R.T. ya I would have better luck talking to the dash board.

So anyone interested there's better trucking company's out there

First of all did you list that deal on your app.?
If you did not list it then you lied on your app.
No one to blame but yourself..
I had a pickup trk. hit my ld. when he was trying to merge on the interstate. No police report,no tickets, but I had to call safety at my former company and let them know.
I listed that deal on my app. with new company.. No issues..

I think you should of posted this on the "report a bad company" thread. Just your name alone tells me your review would be biased on "the inside scoop" thread.

Why would the Police care for if the gravel lot was the only place to turn around a truck?

That's not their problem if it's private property.

Let's get this straight, it's alright to hit anything with your truck because it really shouldn't have been there in the first place, because the whole world needs to make sure that a lost truck driver has a place to make a U-Turn.

Right............nice story, but there's more to the story then you're telling.

Is this the NRT with a terminal in Secaucus NJ? If so, they will fire for -any- damage to their equipment that can possibly be construed as the driver's fault. As will a lot of other companies.

Thought I would give some info/insight on the company that the OP is referring to in the above post. The company is NORTHERN REFRIGERATED TRANSPORTATION (NRT), this is a small 220 + (and growing) truck company based out of Turlock, CA. Company runs approx. 6 western states but a lot of freight is to the pacific NW and southern Ca. Company is privately owned and the owner, along with many of the other employees are former drivers themselves. Company has a very low turnover rate, and you'll find drivers here with 5, 10, 15, 20 years with the company.
The reason I have some insight is because I've been with NRT for 3 months, started as a "newbie" fresh out of school, and what I can say is that in the 3 months that I have been here, I have no complaints. This is a good company, and from what I see, as long as your doing your job, and following policy, they pretty much let you be. Again this is a small company, you talk to your dispatcher by phone or at the yard whenever your on duty. All of the people I have encounter(HR, Admin, Operations, Dock, Maint, Safety) are friendly, easy going, and helpful. One way to judge a company is by there actions, example being, during the hiring process your told that if when in the 1st 90 days of employment, you have no incidents (safety or accidents), you qualify for a $500.00 bonus, well for me Jan 27 was 3 months, yesterday I get back to the yard in Turlock, and the guard, where we check in at, hands me an envelope, inside is my bonus check. This as a new driver impressed me as company recognized my 90 days, and with out questions, issued the bonus.
So with that being said, I'm not familiar with the OP situation, are we getting the full story?? Is there more to this?? I just wanted to post my experience with this company, and so far to date, it has been a positive one for me. Thanks.

Nope, not the same NRT. I was referring to National Retail Transport. Also goes by NRS or Keystone Freight Co, all out of North Bergen or Secaucus NJ.
