So i just did some real running around with some pretty heavy loads, one was grossing 84k lbs.

From my house to grand rapids, MI- holland, MI-chicago, IL- back to Watervliet, MI lots of stop and go, with 4 drops in chicago. Driving in stop and go traffic, etc.

7.2MPG Heavily modified MBN bridge Caterpillar, 18 speed, 3.55s, 290"wb, pulling a spread axle fridge.

550hpw900L - I really enjoy your posts! I'm truck shopping now and could use sum a your Sage Advice. Found some Pac Lease owned/maintained 05 W900L's w/high 300's in mileage, C15, that Lightning Eaton 10 speed (direct) - rated at 1650, with 3:36 rears (and Pro Heat APU's). They say the ECM says 6.2 to 6.4MPG. Got any input on this setup? I've read some posts where you say these engines won't get good mileage w/o mods.... what kinda mods?

BTW - I saw a guy on Ebay selling some injectors for C15's that claims they'll give a 1 to 2.5MPG increase in fuel mileage??? :biggrin_2555:

They can get good millage but you have to run 60mph or less, that C15 is a ACERT twin turbo, they can be made to run but untill you get rid of the restrictive twin turbo set up and that "emission friendly" ecm dont expect much out of them. That 6.4 average could be hauling light loads. On average they get from 4.5-5.5mpg when hauling heavy and running coast to coast.

If you do buy it first thing i would do is get rid of the restrictive reverse flow KW mufflers with catalytic converters, that alone can yield up to a 1mpg increase.

Show me the injectors and description, better yet give me the injector part #.

    Glad you enjoy my posts!
