I guess I'm done going to California with this truck, and New Jersey is next. EPA has set up inspection stations for all vehicles to see if they meet emission standards. $1k fine and a ban from the state with that vehicle is the penalty.
I either have to get a "newish" truck or just wait until the walls get too close to operate in. -
Plenty of freight east of CA!Wickedfire77 Thanks this.

You know how it goes. I had no desire to go there until they said I can't.
popcorn169 Thanks this. -
That is generally how it works. As long as it is your choice it is one thing but when you just can't then it is driving you nuts just to prove a point. -
Once in a while I get tempted by the carrot. (Shiny big truck NEW)
Then I read the fixed weekly cost, and oh how quickly I sober up from that.
12 full months left on this one.
Then I would ideally like to put it a Coronado glider kit. I like the old series 60 motors. If I put it in a shiny kit , I'll feel like I own something worth keeping shiny. -
Lease purchasing is a ripoff. It's a convenient way for companies to put the fuel and maintenance on you the driver. I sure as hell wouldn't purchase a truck from anyone that controls your dispatch. Ever considered leasing from someone like Penske or Ryder? I haven't done the numbers but they take care of all the maintenance.

Did you bother reading more than page 1 from 2 years ago ?
For the most part I'd agree with you , but it's not the case with my company .
I'm not about to rent a truck for. 600 a week. I don't see how some people do it.
And if you haven't run numbers, you're argument is moot.
I have zero problem with my finances. I make a decent living and go home for extended periods without going in a deep hole.
You would know all this if you read beyond the first post.
I guess blanket statements are all the rage these days.
A ripoff would be a contract that didn't pay me for all miles loaded and empty, and if the truck goes in the shop, I don't get breakdown pay and the offer of a loaner truck .
But since I get those things, I don't see a ripoff. I just can't go to California now.4mer trucker, popcorn169, RERM and 1 other person Thank this. -
So I just have to ask, do you just troll the forum looking to stir the pot and insult anyone who doesn't do things the way you would do them? Or was this needless post just a random insult?4mer trucker Thanks this.

Sounds like you are an exception and have your ducks in a row. Keep up the good work.
