Hey guys I'm writing to ask for some help or information about a Class A CDL refresher course out of Indianapolis, IN. I'm a current class A cdl holder. However, I haven't driven since I graduated from CDL school in June of 2015 and the employer I am currently trying to work for (Schneider) now requires that I take some type of refresher course before they will bring me aboard. When asked where to go for this course the recruiter told me she had no information about the refresher course she only knew that it was a requirement. I was writing to my fellow members to ask if anybody knew of any courses out of Indianapolis, IN that might offer this refresher course and what the prices may be?! I would obviously be paying these fees out of pocket so I'm just looking for a course or training facility that would be fair on the price. PLEASE HELP ME!

You need to contact any truck school for prices and info. Shouldn't be more than a week of instruction. Probably around $1200 or so.

When you find a truck school your going to use, I would call the hiring company and ask if that particular school would be acceptable.
If the recruiting department doesn't know I would call the safety and compliance department and ask theme.
It would be a kick in the ____ to have to pay twice. -
Thank you so much. That's what I figured

Schneider is a good company, but very fussy about education requirements......before I spent any money on a refresher I would verify that they will accept the school you initially received your training through. They have a short list and then I would ask for recommended schools in your area for a refresher. It sounds like the person you spoke with was "not in the know"........This link from their own company website should be a good starting point. https://schneiderjobs.com/company-drivers/truck-driving-career/cdl-training
Good Luck Driver!
I would check out Averitt, they too have a free refresher program.
P.S. Schneider is involved with the PTDI, so here is their website: http://www.ptdi.org/schools/index.aspxLast edited: Jan 31, 2016

Call Sage in Muncie. They might tailor something for you. Figure out exactly how many hours of instruction you need first.
