What longer way, back up north to 90 and then across to 15 south.

Well I guess you know best.
I've never driven that part of 95; I've always been routed around it.

Just reading the restrictions on that part of 95, and that I had to get a permit to run it, made me think that going around might be the safer route. I have always been happy to go the long way around.

It is actually about 200 miles more to go the long way around. Getting a permit is easy and free. Really just need it for one section and have to slide the tandems all the way up for that section so that 38' from axle to kingpin. Surprised that you were routed around it. I must have seen about 10 swift trucks heading south today. There is only one route up here that we are not allowed on and that is US-12 east from here to Missoula, MT

I ran out of Lewiston before I went to a dedicated route. 95 to 84 is the way to go. I've probably ran it a hundred times. you can also cut across 55 if you are o/o but there is no time or fuel benefit from it.

Not so weedhopper! 55 is restricted to trailers of 48' or less between the junction of 95 and Boise.

The Boise Stage Stop. Could have gone farther but was in the mood for a decent meal tonight and after US-95 and some fun areas with roads with packed snow that were not there yesterday decided screw it. Plus with this nice 5.4mpg, and not going to get any better between here and Mesa running mostly US-93 from Twin Falls all the way to Phoenix and all of those 2 lane hills to pull. After all expenses, I am looking at about .25/mile profit to the truck. Have to also say, they did such a great job loading this trailer. Scaled out, 33K on the drives and 26K on the trailer and the tandems are all the way forward.

Also paying close attention to the weather map. Showing lots of rain around Vegas, but I am more concerned when I get close to I-80

I turned my truck in Jan 13th. I took a medical default and IEL back-dated it to the date of my injury (Jan 4th). Since my lease was up Jan 26th I'm done.
